BPS at Build for Green

Dmitry Kats, Chief Architect of BPS International participated in Build for Green as a speaker.
On December 05, leaders of environmental construction gathered together in Digital October on Bersenevskaya naberezhnaya. Experts of BPS, Jones Lang La Salle, Aedas, RD Management, Mirland Development Corporation, O1 Properties and Union of Russian Sustainable Building Council made their presentations.

Conference participants discussed not only future of green construction in Russia, but also shared their results of implemented projects.

The status of this international conference was acknowledged by TV link-ups with world experts at green development market. Dmitry Kats, Chief Architect of BPS International communicated with the audience from Munich. He spoke on timber construction in Germany. “Modern wooden buildings are high technology facilities. I’m not referring to those log houses timber construction may be associated with. Nowadays, high quality facilities, i.e. houses, offices, and commercial buildings are being constructed in Germany. And they are a lot more expensive. Wood accumulates solar energy and environmental effect is as higher as longer wood is used. This material does not require big energy costs for processing. When lifecycle of a facility is over, CO2 balance will be neutral”, said Dmitry Kats.

It should be pointed out that BPS International is building an eco-friendly kindergarten of wood in Russia as per the design of Viktor Logvinov, honorary President, Union of Moscow Architects. The project was the best among Social Facilities at Green Awards, All-Russian Environmental Development Competition.
