27.05.2013 BPS International Project Old Town is marked by a diploma of architectural festival Golden Section 2013. The Golden Section Award 2013 is a key event of the festival of the same name, which was held at the Central House of Architect. The competent jury, which consisted of the winners of previous years, judged the best works of the Moscow architects.

The Old Town concept of comprehensive development on the model of European historical centers is awarded an honorary diploma in the nomination “Project. Architectural complex”.

On a total area of 5 hectares there will be established “green” pedestrian zone with cosy cafes and restaurants, small shops, artists’ studios, outdoor performance stages for concerts and theatrics, sports venues and educational sections for children. At the heart of the architectural concept there is a collective image of European historical center.

The total area of low-rise buildings is 90 thousand square meters, 50 thousand of which is occupied by the commercial area. Parking lots will take 36 thousand square meters. With Country Park, another BPS International project, Old Town will be linked by embankment of the Butakovskiy Bay of the Khimki Reservoir.

“The unique idea is to create a comfortable urban environment, where family recreation, culture, sports and education are of paramount importance, where the trade is not a goal but a supplement,” said Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of BPS International Leonid Lopatin.

Project investment volume will amount to 130 million euro. Project implementation period is 3 years. The commencement of construction works — 2014.

Development team members: Nikita Shangin, Chief Architect of the BPS project department; Yuriy Gurvich, BPS Bay Project Manager, and a team of young creative architects under the direction of Mikhail Khazanov.

About the Golden Section Festival:

The Golden Section 2013 festival is organized by the Union of Moscow Architects with the National Architectural Foundation as the co-organizer, and with the support of Moscow City Architecture Committee. During the 15 years of its existence, the Golden Section became the authoritative award, consistently collecting the best works of architects in Moscow.
